The v1 promise
Foundry Core v1 is a portable professional site platform for quickly delivering distinctive, durable, high-quality sites that customers own outright. The value is five practical outcomes:
- Speed: move from a brief to a branded, reviewable direction through a discoverable, repeatable path.
- Creative range: produce materially different directions through themes, brand systems, composition, media behavior, and rhythm—not palette swaps.
- Safe evolution: keep shared changes bounded, inspectable, reversible, and resistant to consumer drift.
- Ownership: retain ordinary Hugo source, content, assets, and history that can be edited, hosted, extended, upgraded, or moved elsewhere.
- Migration: translate a reviewed existing public site into clean Foundry source through an evidence-first, zero-write-first path.
What that feels like in practice

Control, when a team needs more
Foundry Control is the managed workflow layer around a portable Core site. It can provide accounts, roles, private context, drafts, approvals, review history, previews, publishing, integrations, analytics, contacts, and automation. These capabilities help a team coordinate safely; they are not silently part of Core and they are not required to render or own the site.
Control note: Choose Control for collaboration and managed operations. Choose Core for the portable source and runtime. A healthy Foundry system keeps both responsibilities explicit.
Version truth
This portal is version 1.0.0. The Foundry v1 product promise is the target
for an intentionally promoted Core v1.0.0; it must not be presented as an
already-released Core bundle until Distribution’s stable and LTS pointers name
that exact release. Release history remains the source of
truth for what is available today.
